ECNEC Approved 621 Million Dollar Development Project

The establishment of Bangladesh Navy Naval base in the District paotuakhali will cost 128.69 Million USD  .Earlier in November 2013, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone of the BNS Sher-e-Bangla Naval Base The project was taken in a bid to turn Bangladesh Navy into an international standard naval force in line with the Forces Goal 2030 .

 ” The Base will will safeguard the independence and sovereignty of the country through resisting any attack from external enemy ”

The Naval Base would be set up at Lalua adjacent to Payra port under Kolapara upazila in Patuakhali. The Ministry of Defence, Bangladesh Navy and the Engineer in Chief Section of Dhaka Cantonment will implement the project by June 2021 .
